Expanding London law firm are looking for a Finance / Accounts Manager to deal with all aspects of accounts and take over the running of the finance team. The firm are looking for someone with strong leadership skills and a proactive hands on approach. The primary function will be to manage all areas of the firm’s finance and compliance issues including liaising with the SRA, Law Society, insurers, auditors and HMRC. The role will encompass all aspects of cashiering, payroll, legal aid billing, basic management accounts, debt management reports and analysis and VAT returns. You will be the main contact with accountants and auditors – including annual SRA review, audit, review of final accounts and annual tax return. It is essential that you have a solid background in legal accounts (preferably legal aid), experience of managing other staff and a full understanding of all SRA accounts procedures.
In addition to the finance duties, you will also be responsible for some practice management responsibilities including partnership support and HR.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with clients, Partners, bankers and outside accountants.
