Expanding Central London practice are looking for an ambitious HR manager to take over a generalist role and develop the HR function within the practice working closely with the management team and department heads. The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day HR operations such as:

  • All aspects of recruitment from devising job specifications, instructing consultancies, interviewing, selection and making offers and all aspects of contract compliance and paperwork
  • Managing and coordinating the Trainee recruitment process
  • All aspects of performance management including appraisals
  • Employee Relations
  • Conducting exit interviews and taking feedback
  • Managing the firm’s benefits plan including the pension scheme
  • Liaising with the SRA
  • HR policy creation and review  
  • Administration of all HR records
  • Monitoring compliance with health and safety issues relating to all staff

This is a standalone position and requires someone with a pragmatic and commercial approach as well as a confident manner. It is essential that you have a background in legal HR providing generalist support (although they may consider HR professionals from other corporate environments) as well as excellent interpersonal skills and a good understanding of employment law. This could be an ideal next step for a Senior HR Officer who is looking for their first management role in a well-known, London law firm. The firm may consider part time options.
