Job Title: HR Officer

Location: Central London

Salary: £40,000

Leading set of barristers’ chambers are looking for an HR / People Officer to assist the HR Director and carry out a broad range of generalist HR duties and provide a high quality operational and strategic administrative and advisory service across the organisation.

This is a busy and varied role but please see below for an overview of the position (a full job spec will be provided to successful candidates):

  • Talent acquisition, talent management and career development
  • Equality, diversity, inclusion and well being
  • Stakeholder engagement both internal and external
  • Overall general employee life-cycle administration
  • Responsible for the accurate maintenance, updating and auditing of manual and electronic people related records for staff, members and pupils, to ensure accurate reporting of all aspects of people data
  • Processing contractual changes, appraisals, pay review documents, training activities employee relations and disputes, management of annual leave requests, and extraction of diversity information at recruitment stage to ensure that HR reports are frequently update in for Management Board etc.
  • Represent Chambers in appropriate sector initiatives and events, sharing this information with internal and external stakeholders where relevant.
  • Actively promote the core Values of the organisations whilst working towards achieving the strategic objectives, with particular focus on the impact of the People Strategy.

It is essential that you are either CIPD qualified or working towards membership and a working knowledge and application of current UK employment law. Generalist HR experience is also essential from either another set of chambers, law firm or professional services / corporate environment. Ideally you will have experience working effectively in dynamic environments and a flexible, pro-active and collaborative approach to problem solving and team working.
