A selection of duties will include:

  • Assisting with the drafting of construction and engineering documents including letters of intent, contracts, consultancy appointments, warranties and security documents, as well as documents for contentious matters including instructions to Counsel, pleadings, submissions, Court forms and settlement agreements under supervision
  • Undertaking legal research and preparing short research notes

  • Assisting with the administration of matters (including preparing client care letters, time recording, billing, and the engagement of third parties such as Counsel and experts witnesses)
  • Recording chargeable time punctually and accurately

It is essential that you have excellent experience (minimum 12 months) in another construction team although if you have a solid background in general contract / commercial law from another top law firm, they may also consider this. Ideally, you will have a broad range of experience which encompasses JCT contracts, warranties, joint ventures, developments, property contracts, development agreements, forward funding agreements and transactions with interaction between the property owner, constructers and third parties, for example, social housing and energy centres.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal to work alongside a leading team, and ideal for an ambitious candidate as this is an opportunity to gain top quality experience in a well-known construction team with real responsibility and autonomy.

McKinlay Law endeavour to contact all successful candidates within 24 hours. However, due to the volume of applications that we receive, we are not able to respond to every candidate individually. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours your application has been unsuccessful and we have not retained your details.
