Job Title: In-House Employment Lawyer

Major educational institution are looking to recruit an employment lawyer to join their growing legal team and undertake casework, providing high-quality, pragmatic support and legal advice to the HR team for disciplinaries, grievances, and employment tribunals etc. You will be working very closely and collaboratively with the HR team as well as the data protection and procurement teams.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a proven track record delivering employment law advice from within another complex organisation or a law firm.

A selection of duties will include (this list is by no means exhaustive):

  • Developing policies, processes and guidance materials for HR team and departmental managers, and potentially running associated training sessions.
  • Providing advice on Trade Union issues and potential redundancy programmes.
  • Offering the opportunity for members of the team to upskill themselves on employment law.
  • Providing advice on staff immigration matters.
  • Taking instructions and responding to employment tribunal claims and appeals.

Exceptional environment / culture and they offer very flexible working and are largely hybrid. They would consider an experienced employment lawyer, who is returning after a career break and / or looking for a part time role.
