Job Title: Patent Paralegal x2

Location: Central London

Salary: £Exceptional + a Fantastic Benefits Package and Hybrid Working

Leading international firm of patent and trademark attorneys require two patent paralegals to join two of their teams and ensure a high level of support is delivered across the London office. These are both new roles and have come about due to strong business growth. As a key member of the team, you will be tasked with a variety of duties including both paralegal and administrative responsibilities:

  • Assisting fee earners in obtaining information from EPO, UKIPO, EUIPO, WIPO and other IP related websites and databases.
  • Producing reports for fee earners
  • Preparing correspondence and emails to clients, IP offices and overseas agents
  • Preparing standard reporting letters to clients
  • Drafting, amending and proof-reading documents with technical content
  • Updating databases with new cases and clients
  • Managing diaries for patent and trademark renewals
  • Monitoring patent and trademark deadlines and overseeing the patent and trademark deadlines
  • Checking, logging and filing of hard copy official documents at the UK-IPO, EPO EUIPO, WIPO where necessary
  • Preparing and handling all ancillary documentation
  • Instructing overseas agents to attend to filing of new patent, design and trademark applications

This is a busy role, and you must be able to work independently to a high standard as well collaboratively as part of a team. You must be able to work under pressure and respond to changing demands on a daily basis and be able to prioritise deadlines.

Ideally, the client would like a paralegal who has already gained experience in either patents, trademarks or IP work but they will consider an LPC graduate with an IP elective, exceptional academics and a genuine passion for patent / IP law.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a patent paralegal / administrator to join a successful, progressive and innovative law firm. A very generous salary on offer for experienced candidates as well as a fantastic benefits package and hybrid working options.

McKinlay Law endeavour to contact all successful candidates within 24 hours. However, due to the volume of applications that we receive, we are not able to respond to every candidate individually. If you have not heard from us within 24 hours your application has been unsuccessful and we have not retained your details.
