Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

Location: Flexible as to which UK office: London, Newcastle, Edinburgh or Manchester

Salary: £110,000 - £150,000+ (very negotiable depending on experience)

Major, award winning global professional services consultancy are looking for a senior legal counsel to join their UK operations and be responsible for leading complex legal matters and negotiations. You will be reporting directly to the COO and the successful candidate will be required to shape risk positions and outcomes; effectively influencing senior stakeholders.

There are several key responsibilities to this position:

• Contract and commercial work
  • Leading the review, drafting, and negotiation of complex, high-value commercial agreements across multiple jurisdictions, including professional services appointments, framework agreements, Joint Venture structures, and consortium arrangements.
• Corporate governance
  • Lead corporate housekeeping and governance across group entities in multiple jurisdictions.
• Compliance, risk and assurance
• Strategic commercial advice
  • Provide senior legal and commercial advice that actively shapes business strategy and risk appetite.
• Disputes, claims and insurance
• M&A and IP
• People development
  • Mentoring junior members of the legal team

It is essential that you are a qualified lawyer, coming from another international in-house team, and have experience across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the UK and Europe, M&A and corporate transaction experience, and proven experience in complex commercial contract negotiations and risk management. If you have experience in a private equity backed business, that would also be beneficial.

The firm are happy for this position to be based in any of their UK offices: London, Edinburgh, Manchester or Newcastle, but you must also be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
